About us
iWant2BeOnTV is a collective founded by Alex Apostolidis in 2021 that hosts hybrid participatory performance, theatre and concerts that result in video pieces that honour public access cable television with a queer and DIY ethos at the forefront. The works challenge hegemonic power structures through comedy, deviancy and community. The projects continue to push the limits of performance in the mediums of music, theatre and media, intertwining the three in a live context that brings people together, while highlighting LGBTQ+ talent and skill.
The goal is to continue to resist the rapid-fire content churning through collaboration, community and comedy, to provide an alternative entertainment that is handmade, reflective and clever, to showcase underappreciated brilliance while creating a document of the people’s culture as it’s happening.
Currently the team consists of Alex Apostolidis, Charvel Rappos, Mars Zaslavsky and Chris Vargas. They are based in what is known as Montréal, Quebec, Canada.
